Michelle Montoya, mezzo-soprano, has been singing classically for over ten years. She was a member of the internationally renowned Main Street Singers at Los Altos High School, then went on to receive her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Chapman University.
During her time at Chapman she was a member of University Choir, University Singers and Opera Chapman, where she performed in opera scenes programs including Le nozze di Figaro, Die Fledermaus and Les Contes d’Hoffmann, and was featured as a soloist in many major choral works. Amongst her roles in fully staged operas are La Zia Principessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica and Cecily in Pasatieri’s La Divina.
In the Bay Area, Miss Montoya has performed in several productions as a chorus member with West Bay Opera including Turandot, Dido and Aeneas, La vida breve and Les Contes d’Hoffmann. She can be seen in Verismo Opera’s 2013 production of Wagner’s Die Walküre as Schwertleite.
